The trick for converting cubic meters to cubic millimeters

Hi students and learners alike,

At first glance, one would think that the conversion from cubic meters, m3, to cubic millimeters, mm3, would be as easy as multiplying by 1000. It’s easy to get caught in this common error as going from meter units to millimeter units requires only the multiplication by 1000. Now, the thing is that the units here are cubed, to the power of three, and we must remember to cube the 1000, 1000 to the power of three, as well. Your result will be 1 m3 = 10003 mm3 = 1,000,000,000 mm3.

Always remember that a number without units is meaningless. This is where the power of iEquals Formula Solvers will come in handy for double checking your assignments and homework practice problems. iEquals is being released with 53 volume units to ensure you never make this mistake again.
